PARIS — After years of forcing cryptocurrency investors to lose their life savings through phishing emails, fraudulent exchanges, malicious links, and suspicious phone calls, crypto wallet maker Ledger has unveiled a revolutionary breakthrough: hardware wallets that rob customers automatically.

Ledger confirmed that certain devices sold through Southeast Asian reseller CryptoBilis contained unauthorized cellular implants capable of reading customers' 24-word recovery phrases directly off their screens and transmitting them to criminals over LTE, conveniently eliminating the need for customers to share them voluntarily.

The innovation eliminates the traditional inconvenience of clicking malicious links, approving fraudulent transactions, or being persuaded by someone named "Coinbase Support" to surrender your financial future.

"Historically, stealing someone's cryptocurrency required them to make a mistake," explained Ledger executive Richard Voss. "That created unnecessary friction. Now customers can lose everything while following every security recommendation perfectly."

Industry observers praised the development as another milestone in crypto's relentless pursuit of removing intermediaries, including the scammer who previously had to convince you to hand over your money.

Ledger emphasized that its Secure Element and operating system remained uncompromised, meaning customers' cryptographic protections functioned exactly as designed while their recovery phrases were conveniently transmitted to thieves. The company celebrated this as further evidence that its security architecture is exceptionally effective at protecting everything except the customer's money.

Developers are reportedly exploring the next breakthrough in frictionless crypto theft: stealing customers' life savings before their hardware wallets even arrive, eliminating the tedious process of setting them up.
